On April 4th, a ten-day training course on road pavement construction technology in extreme climate and heavy-loaded traffic condition for Pakistan came to a successful conclusion in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan province. Eleven representatives from National Highway Authority(NHA) , Mehran University of Engineer & Technology and some construction companies in Pakistan attended the training and outdoor visits. The training course included design method of asphalt pavement, introduction to new materials, modified asphalt technology, OPBR mode, anti-rutting technology etc.

“We sincerely hope that through this training, we can share China"s experience of road pavement construction technology in extreme climate and heavy-loaded traffic condition with our Pakistan counterpart. At the same time, we, through mutual learning and exchange, can learn from each other to realize the common development of highway construction, management and maintenance.” Director Mr. Li Boyan of department of foreign economy cooperation said on the opening ceremony.

Director of road pavement department of NHA Dr. Asim Inam also expressed his gratitude to the relevant departments in Yunnan province who organized the course. “Pak-China friendship last for decades. Many projects are being carried out and I expect more cooperation on technology exchange in future.”
